Overview

Product overview

YPDA Broth is a rich liquid medium for the cultivation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Pichia pastoris. Peptone and yeast extract supply nitrogen, vitamins and growth factors, and D-glucose is the carbon source.

YPDA media use adenine sulfate to suppress reversion mutations at the ade1 and ade2 loci of the yeast genome, which reduces the proportion of red yeast colonies; the product is based on a classical formulation. Suspend 50.0 g in 1 L of distilled water, boil to dissolve and autoclave at 121 °C for 15 minutes.
