Product overview
The Jenway Genova Plus combines a general-purpose UV/visible spectrophotometer with dedicated life science methods. A xenon lamp covers 198 to 1000 nm with 5 nm bandwidth and ±2 nm wavelength accuracy.
Nucleic acid concentration and purity ratios are calculated from readings at 260, 280 and 230 nm, with optional 320 nm background correction. Preprogrammed Bradford, Lowry, Biuret and BCA protein assays reduce set-up errors, an OD600 mode measures cell density for harvesting, and a full-range purity scan reveals distorted peaks that point to contamination.
Standard modes include photometrics, concentration, multi-wavelength, spectrum scanning, quantitation and kinetics, with autologging for repeat measurements at set intervals. The icon-driven software runs on a large graphical display, and methods and results can be saved to a USB memory stick or output via RS-232 and analogue connections.
