Request a quoteOverview
The MP-200D, formerly the Stuart SMP10, is a digital melting point apparatus for routine identification and purity checks of solid samples. Temperature is selected, measured and displayed digitally, so no glass thermometer is needed, and two capillaries can be tested at the same time.
The melt is observed through a magnifying lens with built-in illumination, and the rear feet can be extended to improve the viewing angle. Users set a plateau temperature for unattended rapid warm-up, after which the block heats slowly at 2 °C per minute towards the melting point for better accuracy.
The instrument reaches 300 °C with 1 °C resolution, using a Pt100 sensor and a 3-digit LED display. Stated accuracy is ±1.0 °C at 20 °C and ±2.5 °C at 300 °C.
