Request a quoteOverview
The MP-800D, previously the Stuart SMP50, detects melting points automatically using digital image processing and is aimed at pharmaceutical, raw material and quality control labs. Three capillaries are analysed at once, and the menu runs on a 7-inch high-definition colour touchscreen built on an Android platform.
Ramp rates are set from 0.1 to 20 °C per minute in 0.1 °C steps, with temperatures up to 400 °C at 0.1 °C resolution; heating from 50 to 350 °C takes about six minutes. A rapid ramp mode gives a quick scan when the melt temperature is unknown. Users can watch the melt live or walk away and review a temperature-stamped video afterwards.
Around 300 melt files including videos fit in 8 GB of storage, and results and videos can be exported to a USB flash drive or sent to an optional printer. User sign-ins and saved programmes are supported, and the unit is stated to conform to USP and GLP requirements. A storage compartment with a glass cutter holds spare capillaries.
