Symmetry S3 EBSD Detector
Request a quoteOverview
Symmetry S3 is an electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) detector that uses a customised CMOS sensor and fibre optics to combine speed, sensitivity and pattern detail. Together with AZtec software it supports texture and grain size analysis in seconds, with guaranteed indexing speeds above 5700 patterns per second and sensitivity above 1000 pps/nA.
It can collect distortion-free megapixel patterns (1244 x 1024) for high angular resolution strain and phase analysis, with sub-pixel distortion giving angular precision below 0.05°. A software-controlled tilting interface with auto-calibration and a proximity sensor that moves the detector to a safe position help protect the microscope.
Five integrated forescatter detectors are optional, and a bellows interface maintains the microscope vacuum. The detector is driven by AZtecHKL acquisition software and AZtecCrystal processing software.
