Product overview
The Sigma 4-5KRL is designed for integration into laboratory automation systems. It is built for robot loading and unloading and for control through the integrated serial interface, and suits high volumes of clinical IVD specimen tubes as well as microtiter plates and custom tubes and flasks.
A patented bucket lifting device levels the buckets so that after every run they return to a reproducible horizontal and vertical position at the loading point. Lid opening and closing takes under 2 seconds and rotor indexing 8 seconds, which Sigma says shortens downtime and raises throughput.
The low-profile lid lets the unit sit directly beneath the work platform, minimising the robot Z axis length. Acceleration and braking times are 23 and 24 seconds, respectively. Variants with or without bucket levelling and an RS 232 interface are offered.
