Product overview
The Sigma 4-5L is a high-torque benchtop centrifuge built for throughput and capacity, with short acceleration times, a low noise level and an extensive accessory range. It is recommended for clinical diagnostics and life-science applications, and up to 50 routine protocols can be stored.
Optimised air handling keeps specimen heating low and running quiet; the IVD model additionally has a sensor that monitors the specimen limit temperature. Accessories cover tubes and flasks from 1.5 to 750 ml and buckets for microtiter and deepwell plates, and RCF up to 4,643 x g also suits gel tubes.
Sigma states a capacity of up to 144 blood collection tubes of 13 mm diameter or 100 tubes of 16 mm diameter per run, which it describes as up to 25% more than comparable units. Refrigerated (4-5KL) and IVD versions are available, plus biosafe rotors, clinic and cell culture packages and an RS 232 interface.
