Product overview
Sigma describes the 6-16S as combining the compactness of a benchtop unit with the performance of a floor-standing centrifuge. This all-purpose model fits routine and research work, with high throughput in fixed-angle and swing-out rotors and RCF values up to 21,917 x g at 13,500 rpm.
It handles blood pouches, petroleum flasks, microtiter and deepwell plates and tubes and flasks from 0.2 ml to 1,000 ml. Twelve fixed-angle and six swing-out rotors are available with numerous buckets and adapters, including many biosafe configurations. Typical areas are microbiology, molecular biology, pharmaceutics, genomics, clinical diagnostics, bioproduction, cell culture and transfusion facilities.
The patented Spincontrol S one-knob controller provides 60 programs, 30 acceleration/braking profiles, password-protected user settings and a large program status display with progress bar that is visible from a distance. Cell culture packages and an RS 232 interface are options.
