Overview

Product overview

The Sigma 8KS is Sigma’s all-purpose refrigerated floor-stander for industrial and research volumes: 12 × 1,000 ml in a swing-out rotor or 6 × 1,000 ml in a fixed-angle rotor, 10,500 rpm and 20,461 × g. Two 6-position swing-out rotors take 1,000 ml and 1,500 ml flat-bottom flasks; tubes and flasks from 1.5 ml to 1,500 ml, plus microtiter and deep-well plates, sit in the adapter set. A closed windshield cuts drag — Sigma states energy savings above 63% versus an open swing-out — and lowers heat and noise. Refrigeration is −20 to +40 °C with Rapid Temp. Spincontrol S, automatic lid opening, and an 88 cm loading height are the daily ergonomics. Water cooling, a GMP water-cooled model, RS232, and DataSuite documentation are options. The 8KBS blood-bank sister is the medical-device variant (EU 2017/745 Class IIa, twelve blood-bag systems).

Al-Shaker specifies 8KS versus 8KBS, windshield versus open swing-out, and water cooling, then commissions and supports the floor-stander across Jordan, the GCC, and MENA.

Features

Key features

  • 01

    12 × 1,000 ml

Large-volume swing-out or 6 × 1,000 ml fixed-angle at high RCF — a wider spectrum than many competitors in this class.

  • 02

    Windshield economy

A closed windshield cuts drag, heat into the room, and noise; Sigma quotes more than 63% energy saving versus open.

  • 03

    8KBS for the blood bank

A Class IIa medical-device version for twelve blood-bag systems is also available.
