Deoxyribonuclease I (DNase I)

The standard Deoxyribonuclease I (PC0704) is an endonuclease from bovine pancreas that degrades double-stranded DNA to 3'-OH oligonucleotides in the presence of divalent cations: with Mg2+ it nicks double-stranded DNA, with Mn2+ it cleaves both strands. It is useful for nick translation and for cloning random DNA fragments. It is offered as chromatographically pure lyophilised powder (activity above 500 Kunitz U/mg) in 25 mg to 1 g packs, and is stored at -20 C.

The DNase I for RNA work (PC0719) is a recombinant enzyme expressed in Pichia pastoris, animal-free and tested for contaminating RNase and protease, for applications that need DNA-free RNA such as RT-PCR. It is offered as 1000 U, 5000 U, 50 kU and 100 kU.
