Request a quoteOverview
ViSafe Green Gel Stain is a stable, sensitive and environmentally safer fluorescent dye for staining dsDNA, ssDNA or RNA in agarose or polyacrylamide gels. It was designed to replace highly toxic ethidium bromide and is reported non-cytotoxic and non-mutagenic by Ames tests at working concentrations.
It absorbs in the UV between 250 and 300 nm and has the same spectra as EtBr, so existing 254 nm UV transilluminators or visible-excitation gel readers can be used. The stain is stable at room temperature, tolerates microwaving and works for precast or post-staining.
