Product overview
The sampler and skimmer cones form the interface between the plasma and the vacuum of an ICP-MS, and they wear with use. Ashtech Science supplies replacement cones for the main ICP-MS platforms, with each part cross-referenced to the original manufacturer's part number.
Sampler cones are built for robust ion sampling in routine and high-throughput work, while skimmer geometries are designed for good ion transmission and low background. Cones are offered in nickel, platinum, platinum-tipped and speciality alloys, and Ashtech states that all of them are precision-machined in the UK from high-purity materials.
The published range includes cones for Thermo Fisher instruments (including iCAP Q cold plasma cones), PerkinElmer 6000/9000 and NexION systems, and Agilent 7500-series and later instruments, with Bruker and Shimadzu options as well.
