Overview

Product overview

NIMBUS is a compact table-top instrument that brings ultrasonic extinction to the laboratory for individual low-viscosity samples. Sound waves are sent through the sample at 31 discrete frequencies, and the measured attenuation is converted into a particle size distribution with 31 reference points, plus concentration.

Because it uses sound instead of light, concentrated and optically opaque suspensions and emulsions up to 40 vol% can be measured in their original state without dilution. A centrifugal pump circulates 250 to 1,000 ml of sample in a closed stainless-steel circuit, and the lowerable basin floor allows quick draining and cleaning.
